Utøverkomiteen svikter ytringsfriheten

Den norske utøverkomiteen vil ikke tillate politiske markeringer i OL. Mens idrettsutøvere verden over protesterer mot rasisme, tviholder IOC fortsatt på illusjonen om OL og idretten som en nøytral arena.

16. oktober 1968 sto Tommie Smith og John Carlos på seierspodiet under OL i Mexico. Etter å ha tatt gull og bronse på 200 meter valgte de to amerikanerne å bruke det største øyeblikket i karrieren til å markere støtte til Black Power-bevegelsen.Smith og Carlos ble fordømt av IOC for å ha bevisst brutt de grunnleggende prinsippene for den olympiske ånd.
