Mourinho avslører Zlatans beskjed til ballguttene

– Endelig har han fått en europeisk tittel, sier José Mourinho etter triumfen i Europaligaen.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic (35) måtte holde seg til krykkene og benken da Manchester United dro i land Europaliga-trofeet etter en overlegen 2-0-seier mot Ajax. Supersvensken stjeler likevel overskriftene etter å ha døpt Friends Arena om til Zlatan Arena, posert med et spesielt banner og kastet krykkene i feiringen.

Ballguttene fikk klar beskjed
Etter kampen avslørte manager José Mourinho at supersvensken også spilte en viktig rolle underveis i kampen.

– Han spilte utenfor banen, med krykker, som de andre skadede spillerne. De skrek, gjorde alt. Og dessuten: Zlatan sa på svensk til ballguttene at de måtte ta det med ro. I den fantastiske karrieren har han omsider, omsider fått en europeisk tittel, sier den portugisiske trofé-sankeren ifølge Expressen.

Ibrahimovic kan se tilbake på en mer enn godkjent sesong der han spilte en viktig rolle på veien mot Uniteds to trofeer, som gjør at han nå er oppe på 33 trofeer i karrieren.

I Europaligaen ble det fem scoringer før den alvorlige kneskaden i kvartfinalen mot Anderlecht, mens Ibrahimovic viste sin viktighet i ligacupfinalen med to scoringer og en banens beste-prestasjon.

35-åringen bidro også med 17 scoringer i det som må betegnes som en fiaskosesong i Premier League, men det blir fort glemt når man står tilbake som vinner av ligacupen og Europaligaen – og ikke minst en billett til neste sesongs Mesterliga.

– Det er urettferdig det som skjedde med ham. For Zlatan er dette en fantastisk kveld. I hans hjemland, på hans arena der statuen skal stå, mot klubben han forlot Sverige for. Han har hatt en fantastisk effekt på oss denne sesongen og vi var virkelig lei oss for at han ikke kunne spille, sier Mourinho.

– Veldig glad og stolt
Hva som skjer med Ibrahimovic neste sesong, er det nok ytterst få som vet. Det eneste som er klart er at kneskaden holder ham ute av spill en god stund frem i tid.

Uansett har Ibrahimovic etterlatt seg store og kraftige spor i Manchester United. Medspillerne hyller ham både for jobben han gjør på og utenfor banen. Paul Pogba fortalte svensk presse hvor god Ibrahimovic er til å ta seg av de unge spillerne i United, mens Juan Mata kunne se at det var spesielt for svensken å vinne Europeligaen på hjemmebane i Sverige.

– Han var veldig glad og stolt. Han har spilt en stor rolle i denne turneringen og gjort mange mål for oss. Det er spesielt for Zlatan å komme hjem til Sveirge og Stockholm og spille finalen her. Det er hans Sverige. Det var spesielt for oss også, sier den spanske teknikeren.
